AW Direct Electric Over Air Park Brake Release

As commercial truck technology evolves, newer heavy-duty trucks are increasingly using electronically controlled parking brake systems that can make traditional methods of supplying air and releasing spring brakes more difficult.

The AW Direct Electronic Parking Brake Air Connector Assembly provides a simple solution for accessing these newer air brake systems and is designed as an add-on to the AW Direct Quick Connect Air Coupler Kit (ZAW-ACK).

Designed for Newer Electronic Parking Brake Systems
Certain late-model commercial trucks, including newer Volvo and Freightliner applications, utilize electronic-over-air (EOA) or electronic parking brake (EPB) technology. Instead of a traditional mechanical parking brake control, these systems use an electronic dash switch that communicates with the vehicle's control system to operate the pneumatic brakes. 

When a truck is disabled, has lost electrical power, or cannot electronically release its parking brakes, this specialized assembly allows towing and service professionals to supply external air to the appropriate pneumatic system to help release the spring brakes. 

Three-Line Connection for Greater Versatility
The assembly features two fittings designed to connect to Schrader-style service valves found on applicable Air Processing Module (APM) systems, plus a third line for supplying live air to the truck chassis.

This allows technicians to introduce air where it is needed without searching underneath the vehicle for an accessible air tank, removing air lines, or improvising connections. For towing operators, that can mean faster preparation and less time spent roadside. For mobile technicians and repair shops, it makes moving and servicing disabled trucks easier and more efficient.
