Description

The most trusted name in synthetic recovery rope is now branded on a new line of synthetic winch line for light-duty wreckers and car carriers. Strength-tested and field-proven, RimSling has added this braided rope to its full line of synthetic towing and recovery products. Available in three sizes and lengths to 150', this new black winch line is lighter than traditional steel cable, safer to use and easier to handle.

Each RimSling winch line is made from 12 strands of high-strength HMPE fibers in a single braid with an oriented white stripe for twist identification. The synthetic winch line offers virtually zero cord memory, resulting in fewer tangles and less birdnesting on the spool. The rope is also lightweight and won't fray like steel lines, reducing strain on the body and the chance for cuts to the operator. The line also won't stretch over time.

Just as strong as its steel counterpart, RimSling's winch line tips the scale at one-seventh the weight of traditional steel lines. It won't scratch vehicle surfaces and offers excellent abrasion resistance. Even if the strands are severed, the torque-free line will fall limp to the ground because it doesn't store energy under tension, unlike steel cable. The rope will also float in water, increasing its usefulness in water recoveries and other wet environments.

This winch line is available only in black but comes in three diameters—3/8”, 7/16” and 1/2". The Minimum Breaking Strength (MBS) varies by size. See the drop-down menu top right for specifics. The rust-free line can be washed with soap water. A clean line is important to the longevity of the line and keeps it functioning as it should under daily use. Each line also includes a self-locking hook to ensure the winch line is properly secured to the casualty.

RimSling's winch fibers are also coated for durability. Its low stretch properties won't cause a loss in towing power or threaten the integrity of the line. The flexibility of the line also makes rigging easier, allowing the line to reach areas on the vehicle which may not be accessible to rigid steel line. The line won't kink, either, and will not need to be replaced as often as steel winch line.
