Description

Essential to heavy-duty tow operations, this 1/4" brass air fitting allows tow operators to tie into the existing air system of a Class 8 Volvo or Mack commercial truck to supply air to the brake system when the power unit is disabled and can no longer perform this function. Using air supplied by the rear of the tow truck, this application allows the tow operator to release the casualty's brakes and prepare it for towing. Simply install directly to the metric threads on the air tank of a Volvo or Mack tractor.

Available for purchase separately, this fitting is part of AW Direct's Quick Connect Air Coupler Kit. The fitting is corrosion resistant and features a rubber O-ring to ensure to an air-tight seal and full operating pressure while the vehicle is being towed. The fitting is coarse-threaded, and the hex shape requires a 11/16" wrench for tightening. Thread tape is recommended for an further airtight seal.
