The strength of the system is from the anti-vibration cap, which holds the bracket in place by hand tightening the cross hair locking mechanism. This system is DOT approved and has been tested against vibration for six hours, double the amount required by the DOT. In other words, it won’t come loose heading down the highway, thanks in large part to the wide surface area of the cap.
