Straps, Chains and Slings

These Tie-Down Systems are simple to install, yet provides a secure, damage free tie-down. Systems don't touch a vehicle's suspension, chassis or body, thereby preventing any damage that might occur when using chains. Kits are completely adjustable to fit any car or truck tire size. It is also available in any strap length and hook combination. This system includes: four 14' or 18' long straps with chain ends, four short straps with lined eyes and four ratchets with chains . The 18' length strap is perfect for larger wheels and tires found on pick-ups and SUV's.

Classic Webbing: The classic polyester webbing has been chosen as the Tower's workhorse strap for decades and has become the standard for everyday use in the towing industry.

Tower's Edge Webbing: The Tower's Edge webbing is PVB impregnated to give maximum protection against the elements, resisting water and other fluids up to 50% more than standard web. A modified acrylic web coating provides further protection from the elements and a more durable permanent finish. A slightly tighter weave adds increased flexibility and tear resistance.

Heavy Duty Webbing: Feel the difference with this heavy duty webbing. It has over 50% more fibers then the classic webbing. The added benefits for this thicker, heavier design are longevity, durability and superior abrasion resistance.

Green Mamba™ Webbing is built for tough jobs, offering superior abrasion and weather resistance for longer service life. It also features enhanced visibility similar to Hi-Viz webbing, helping improve safety in low-light or high-traffic environments. Torque Drive binders are designed and meant to be operated differently than any other binder. It is best if your drivers can set aside any preconceived notions and past experience with operating binders. These require a new understanding of how they lock the chain tight. Done properly, drivers will experience less shoulder strain, easier operation, safer load securement, and faster tie down/release times.

Let's start with the handle. Traditional binders use a "pawl" that is built into the handle to engage the gear around the barrel that, when rotated, pulls the threaded posts either in or out. This is not the case with our binder. The handle is not to be used in the traditional/rotational sense. The handle on the Torque Drive is actually a reaction bar first and handle for carrying second. The handle does not have the traditional ratcheting abilities like a standard ratcheting binder. Our binder was designed to be operated by a cordless drill. In a pinch, someone can simply use a 14 mm wrench or socket if a drill breaks or batteries go dead. We really discourage the use of an impact. We are looking for rotational torque, not "hitting" torque. Impacts can shorten the life of the hex head drive nut.

The locking mechanism for Torque Drive is having the handle against the floor of the trailer or against a part of the equipment you are tying down. With the handle against (reacting) a stationary object we develop superior chain tightness. Because we attain such high chain tightness, we virtually eliminate chains loosening with tire mash (bridge abutments, bumps, railroad tracks, etc.). Done correctly, it should take about five to seven pounds of force to pull the handle off the floor of the trailer.

Place the binder as close to the rub rail as possible so that the handle will be able to hit the floor of the trailer or position so the handle is against a part of the unit being tied down.
