The life of a tow truck operator is a tough and dangerous one. Physically demanding, close to high-speed traffic, and never entirely sure what could go wrong. Every tow truck operator deserves as many conveniences as possible. This is why we made the Self-Loading Dolly Mount. This handy tool helps make their day a bit safer, a bit easier, and a bit better.
Able to load and unload dollies quickly and efficiently, you can rely on the Self-Loading Dolly Mount. This shock assisted mount allows the tow truck operator to load dollies from their power zone, the optimal lifting position for users that eliminates back and shoulder strain. Additionally, it eliminates side frame and truck bed damages from impacts with the dollies. To absorb these benefits, operation is a breeze. To pull the mount down, engage the release handle and gently pull back on the dolly. The dolly will float down to the operator with shock assistance. To mount or dismount the dolly, engage the cup latch on the tilt cup. This will open the tilt cup or lock the tilt cup into place. Lastly, pull the release handle and guide the mount back up as the shock assistance takes away all the lifting. For one last securing method, insert the latch pin to prevent the dolly side frame from falling in transit. It's that easy!
Additionally, it also protects tow truck operators and their equipment by preventing them from getting on the bed of the truck, especially trucks with high beds. No need to worry about slipping or falling off, as you can stay in one spot on the ground while it loads. Available in two sizes, this professional-grade system combines lightweight aluminum components with zinc-plated or powder-coated frames for maximum corrosion resistance. The ergonomic carry handle is balanced for smooth, controlled positioning, and the Speed-Lube hub design makes bearing maintenance effortless with a center grease zerk for quick, even lubrication.
Like every X-Series model, the SLX wheel features a patented cam-lock with a spring-loaded pin for easy engagement with the breakover bar. A positive camber on the axle also ensures straight, stable towing. Choose your preferred model: Standard Duty (SD): 4.80 tires, 3,040-lb capacity or Extreme Duty (XD): 5.70 tires, 4,000-lb capacity.

How it works
Step 1
Cam over rear tire of the dolly.
Step 2
Engage camlock and place front tire near obstruction in the stowed position.
Step 3
Repeat for other side.
Step 4
Move vehicle away from obstruction and cam over the stowed tire. Continue with normal process.

Tow dollies take a lot of abuse, given their low profile, close proximity to the road surface and undesirable position behind the drive axles. Make sure your set is up to the challenge with the built-in durability and longevity of In The Ditch’s X-Series XL dolly set.
Available in two sizes, this professional dolly system features aluminum parts to reduce weight and resist the elements. The frames are available with either a zinc-plated and powder-coated finish, and the carry handle is ergonomically designed to balance the load as the operator moves the dollies into position.
As with any X-Series model, In The Ditch has added a fifth adjustment hole to widen the dolly combination to 85", and the wheels feature a patented cam-lock design with a spring-loaded pin to engage the dollies with the breakover bar. The positive camber ensures a straight pull down the road.
The Standard Duty (SD) tow dolly comes with 4.80 tires and offers a capacity of 3,040 lbs. The Extreme Duty (XD) option includes 5.70 tires and can carry 4,000 lbs.
